  • planning on  laying sod this weekend . I can’t wait to get the yard looking good after winter gave it such a beating this year.
  • so happy to have my parents in town visiting us this week. What a special thing to see that love between a grandchild and grandparent.

words of wisdom

be gentle with yourself.

you are a child of the universe, no less than the trees or the stars.

Friday Five

1. The earthquake and tsunami in Japan are weighing heavy on my heart. I can’t imagine going through something so horrific.

2. Is anyone else finding this season af American Idol to be total snoozeville? Not crazy about the final 12, but I am enjoying Jennifer Lopez more than I thought I would. Confession: I think she is so beautiful!

3. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward an hour on Saturday night  people! Spring is so close we can taste it, right?!

4.  I jumped, albeit hesitantly, on to the TOMS bandwagon. Got a pair of the simple black ones. Didn’t think I’d see what all the shoe hype was, but now I’m a believer. So comfy! Like, house shoe comfy. And love that they donate a pair of shoes to a child in need with every purchase. Yay Toms!

5. I’ve been wanting to make this bread  forever. Maybe this weekend it will finally happen?

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I fear alot of yard work is on my agenda…..xx

What could be more important? Of course, there are so many factors that attribute to a child’s ability to receive a good education, and I believe alot of the responsibility has to fall on the parents at home. However, teachers and schools make up the other 50%.  Until parents stop pointing the finger at teachers and teachers stop pointing the finger at parents, the future of our country’s educational system looks quite grim. Boy could we take some advice from Finland and China on this one.
